Doctor A.E. "Chick" Allegrini

Doctor A.E.
Estelle, widow of Doctor A.E. "Chick" Allegrini, had a history with Dominican Hospital going back over 50 years. Chick was a pillar of the medical staff in the hospital's early years and Estelle maintained a relationship with the hospital and the Dominican Sisters until her death. Estelle passed away at the age of 85 on June 17, 2006 at Dominican Hospital. Estelle was born and raised in San Francisco. She attended the University of California Berkeley and married Dr. A.E. Allegrini in her sophomore year. Estelle was a longtime resident of Santa Cruz who always had a vibrant and exuberant energy for life. She treasured art and music and had a great sense of adventure. Travel was of great value to Estelle; she was always learning about people and different cultures. Another pastime she enjoyed was golf, which she played for several years at Pasatiempo Golf Club. Estelle's greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Estelle was very involved in many local groups. She was active in Omega Nu, Guide Dogs for the Blind, the Dominican Hospital Auxiliary and Girl Scouts. She was a longtime supporter of the Santa Cruz Symphony. She was also a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church. She generously provided a bequest in her will for Dominican Hospital Foundation to support the Pediatric Clinic.
